What Midland needs to know.

Seeing as you are already on the web, and found this website, your interest in Midland is already there. This is good! Midland, Texas is currently on the verge of various developments in growth and everyone here in Midland, or on the way, need to be made aware of them!

Economic Development is the phrase of the day! The City of Midland is THE SOURCE for all the upcoming changes, but let me highlight a few of them for you:

http://www.ci.midland.tx.us/index.html This site will take you directly to the City of Midland's website and home of a gargantuan amount of information.

http://www.midlandtexasedc.org/ Welcome to Midland Development Corp. Here you will find easy access to vital statistics, news on various works to improve the city, potential businesses headed our way and just what it is Midland has to offer for those businesses looking for a new home.

http://www.ci.midland.tx.us/engineering/cp2025.pdf Midland's Master Plan 2025 ! Got a minute? This 321 page strategic write-up is packed full of maps, diagrams and fairly detailed work-ups on the next 20 years of development in Midland. However, for those interested in the "cliff notes" version, you can scroll down to 308 for a table / summary and references to where you can learn more about what you might be interested in.

Of course, never rule out our good friend www.google.com ! 99% of what I have learned about my very own city, I found through a through search via Google. When you do a search, look down at the bottom right of each entry they give you. You will find a "cache" button... click on that! It will highlight the words from your search within the article it brought to your attention. Makes finding what you are looking for that much easier.

Good luck! Hope this was helpful. I am now going to turn a selfish eye upon myself and talk about some of the things in Midland that keep me "off the streets," so to speak.

do we also need to spend 41.8 plus overrun for a second class junior college?

What is "second class" about M.C.? Some of the best professors I've met were out at Midland College.

M.C. is currently training some of the top nurses in the region and is bring in students from across the nation for pilot training.

M.C. is first class all the way and deserves our support.

I took calculus 3 at midland college from an extremely smart (and cool) professor Joseph Severino. I have attended UT Dallas and I felt that the course taught at MC was better taught than the Rice curriculum math at UT Dallas. What would be nice is if there wasnt MC, UTPB, and OC, and if they could all start a new campus and pool resources. The permian basin would have a better university than Tech, in my opinion.
